GOING TO BAT FOR VERMONT

An on-line auction is underway to raise funds for Vermont farmers in need after the destruction of Tropical Storm Irene. Direct donations are also being accepted. Proceeds will go directly to The Vermont Farm Disaster Relief Fund. Going to Bat for Vermont will also include a November 12th baseball roundtable at Vermont Technical College. Check the Norwich Center for Civic Engagement page on Facebook to see what material donations are needed. Financial donations can be made to the Norwich University Hurricane Relief Fund and will benefit students, faculty and staff affected. The town of Hartford, VT is accepting volunteer assistance for clean up efforts. If you can help, please contact the Hartford Municipal Bldg. Those with trucks are also invited to assist with hauling rubish to the landfill. More at www.hartford-vt.org

ReSOURCE has established a flood relief fund to provide essential services free of charge to low income Vermonters who lack insurance and the necessary support needed to recover from the devastating flooding in the wake of Tropical Storm Irene. Through the ReLIEF program, they will provide replacement of major appliances, furniture, household goods, and building materials.
