INDEPENDENT RADIO DURING THE WEEK…
Jake & Zeb
Every weekday morning, The Point’s day begins when Jake & Zeb brew their first pot of coffee at 5am. They bring you the long sets of music you crave as a great pick me up. Count on getting the information you need, too. News, weather, The Point Road Report, music news via The Daily Download, and a check on regional events in The Point Planner. Once you get to work, stick with Jake & Zeb for “9 at 9.” “9 at 9” is a nine song musical excursion that highlights a different year every weekday.
The Point’s midday program is hosted by one of Vermont’s favorite radio personalities, Julia, as she fills your workday with long sets of music. Julia takes a look at the local concert scene on Local Concert Spotlight around 11:20am and gathers a unique collection of songs for Deep Dish just before noon.
Mike Luoma delivers an after-work attitude-adjustment every afternoon! Prepare for your commute home with The Point Road Report around 4:10. Cruise the rest of your ride with the 5 o’clock Free Ride – an EXTRA long set of music.
7pm is when Jamie takes to the airwaves to help you chill out after a long day. Jamie offers a wealth of musical knowledge, digs into The Point’s extensive library for deep tracks, and turns you onto the cutting edge artists of today. He’ll also keep you up to date on area concerts and continue playing long sets of music well into the wee hours of the morning.
Weekends on The Point include long sets of music every hour along with some very special programming; much of it produced right here at The Point studios. First and foremost, every weekend on The Point is a FREE MUSIC WEEKEND with an abundance of CDs, DVDs, and concert tickets to be given away all day Saturday and Sunday.
The Point’s weekend programming also includes Little Steven’s Underground Garage Friday night at 11pm. Steven Van Zant of Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band hosts two hours of “garage rock” from the past and present.
Dan Cardozo
On Saturday morning, long time Point personality Dan Cardozo is your host for The Saturday Coffee House. Dan brews up The Point’s mellow roast mix of music between 6am and 10am and also takes a look at the weekend’s live music scene during “Night Lights.”
More long sets of music on the weekend come to you courtesy of Lynne Goodson on Saturday & Sunday afternoons. Lynne’s delivery makes it a pleasure to hang out… and we bet’cha you’ll hear some reggae!
Jamie Canfield
Join Jamie again at 2:00am for The Lounge…two hours of electronica, trance, trip-hop, and interesting sounds as only he can serve up.
Folk, Bluegrass, Gospel, Roots, and Blues collide on Sunday morning as hosts Tim Downey and Todd Tyson bring you Crossroads. Crossroads is a long-standing tradition with a huge following on The Point. Sunday wouldn’t be the same without Crossroads.
Hear incredible live performances on E Town Sunday morning at 10. In 2006, E Town teamed up with The Point to air a concert from Bruce Cockburn and Brett Dennen captured live at The Flynn Theater in Burlington.
Eric Koval
Eric Koval fills The Point’s airwaves with his positive vibes and long sets of music on Sunday from 11am to 3pm. No matter what the weather, you can always count on a sunshine daydream at about 12:15pm as Eric brings you “Deeper Dead.”
Everyone you hear on The Point enjoys the music as much as you do and takes great pride in their programs. Thanks for listening to Independent Radio, The Point!
